UNT Steak Out

Hidden amongst copious amounts of corn injected feeding lots, North Texas is home to a few surprisingly hidden jewels. Three of these being Texas Women's University, University of North Texas, and Mr. Chopsticks. Katie and I made the trip to Denton this Sunday so that she could attend a graduate school interview for the Counseling Psychology PhD program at UNT.

After dropping her off, I found myself in a make shift reconnaissance mission. My duties as her domestic were not quite finished. This is how the big morning went down.

6:00 am- Katie wakes up and takes 3 huge poops in effort to achieve correct interview body weight and she is nervous.

6:32 am- Shower is complete, time to put her face on and get the hair did.

6:58 am- I never knew Katie could use an ironing board.

7:00 am- Tiki awakened and put to work.

7:10 am- Its 27 degrees outside and tons of snow on ground. I go get cereal bowls and 7 tater tots from continental breakfast. Our hotel seems to be somewhere around a 3 star establishment.

7:20 am- Tater tots in trashcan, we eat buckwheat flakes and BP Bumpers (last minute carb load).

7:40 am- Katie is dressed and looking dang good!

7:45 am- We decide Katiki should wear the flat shoes rather than heels. They look like lady bugs.

7:50-8:15 am- Katiki practices last minute interview questions inside her head. It is quiet and I let her do that thing.

8:25 am- As we drive up to Psychology building Katiki makes awkward eye contact with Dr. Trent Petrie (head of Sports Psychology Cohort), we have to circle the building because Katiki is freaking out. Celebrity sighting!

8:30 am- I drop Katiki off at front steps of psychology building and begin a huge stake out operation in the parking lot.

8:35 am- Recon mission going well, she is still the cutest, but most other applicants I have seen have good style. I am surprised. I hope Katiki remembers to turn on her wireless receiver so that I can hear the interview.

8:40 am- Lots of cakes are entering the building carried by I assume current grad students.

8:43 am- Recon update, no Chinese people on campus? And I'm parked in front of the chemistry building. Suspicious.

8:46 am- A girl just walked into interview wearing a beanie hat. Her hair will certainly be jacked and frizzy!

8:50 am- Underarmor now makes backpacks.

8:52 am- Another girl just walked in with a walmart bag full of food. Perhaps she has special dietary needs.

8:55 am- I think I just saw Sara Ladowski go into interview building. Katiki will be pumped a teammate showed up.

9:00 am- Recon aborted... position compromised!

9:05 am- UNT parking services were tipped off by my hazard lights blinking.

9:10 am- I go to coffee shop, now wait for temperature to warm up and hopefully go on a bike ride. First, I am going to research via interweb and receive more quotes for food bar packaging. I am so anxious to start!
